PRODUCT INFORMATION - Drain Out Root Clear
Effectively kills roots and retards new growth in sewer lines which can cause slow running drains and sewers. If left untreated, roots can cause complete blockage. Can also be used in septic tanks, cesspools, and drain fields. Contains copper sulfate which is a long established method of controlling damaging roots in residential and commercial drainage systems.

CLEANING TIPS - Drain Out Root Clear
Please follow cautions and instructions on the label carefully.
SEWER TREATMENT FOR ROOT CONTROL: Roots of shrubbery and trees growing near sewer lines frequently penetrate pipes in search of moisture and nutrients. If not controlled, root hairs will grow in diameter and number causing tile breakage, gradual reduced flow, and sometimes complete stoppage. Root Clear is effective in keeping sewer lines free of roots. It is safe for drain systems and does not harm outdoor shrubbery or trees.
FOR HOUSEHOLD SEWERS: Use 2 to 6 lbs. twice yearly in spring and early fall. Apply in toilet bowl near sewer line. Flush 1/2 lb. portions at a time or remove the clean-out plug and pour entire quantity directly into sewer line then flush with water. NOTE: Do not apply through sink or tub drains as it will corrode these metal drains.
SEPTIC TANKS & DRAIN FIELDS: Root Clear will precipitate in the septic tank and little will pass into the absorption drain field. TO TREAT DRAIN FIELD PIPES: Add 2 to 6 lbs. of Root Clear to distribution box located between the septic tank and the drain field. If distribution box does not have an opening, it is advisable to install a clean out plug opening into the outlet pipe, from the septic tank leading to the drain field, for effective clearing of drain field pipes. Note: Do not apply Root Clear through sink or tub drains as it will corrode these metal drains.
FOR COMPLETE STOPPAGE: Physically remove the root blockage and follow above instructions. Keep hands, face and children away from drains while using. Never use a plunger during or after use or take trap or pipes apart because chemicals may still be present if drain did not clear. Consult plumber.
